As you left school today gobbling down the last morsel of that sweet chocolate chip cookie, you may have wondered to yourself, "What's this all about?" Well, we were celebrating Katie Fisher Day. Katie Fisher Day was started by a man in New York who lost his sister to a car crash in 2010.
Back when he was in college, his sister Katie used to bake him cookies and mail them to him EVERY WEEK for all 4 years of college! He and his sister were very close, so when she passed away he missed her very much. He wanted to find a way to remember her and spread the love that she always gave to him. So, to honor her he started Katie Fisher Day where all people bake for their loved ones - just like she used to do for him! All you have to do is bake cookies and give them to the ones you love. It's that simple. Everyone loves cookies and people like to know that they are loved...that's what it's all about. March 12th was Katie's birthday, so that's why he chose that day. To read more about this day go to: http://modernloss.com/katie-fisher-day-is-march-12/ and http://katiefisherday.org/ Do you have people in your life who you love (family, friends)? Who would you bake cookies for to show you love them? Have you tried contacting us on the website about homework, but because you don't have an email address you never received a reply? Well here is a place you can post your questions on homework. You can also help each other with your homework on here - just no idle chatting on this thread. This blog thread is all about homework help. So, if you need clarification on the homework directions...are confused about a simple problem, post your question here and we will respond as soon as we can. :)
